HTE 019 Is This Startup Worth My Life? w/ Dan Martell

Dan Martell on Hack The Entrepreneur Oct 23rd 2014

Being a father to a beautiful 9-year old girl, I find myself often repeating the phrase: 'Learn something new every day.'

Unfortunately, like many things in life, I don't always do as I say --- but I am striving to change this.  During today's conversation I learned many things, but more importantly I learned something that has changed my way of thinking about business and life.

Although we may not learn life-changing things every single day, we should strive to, and we need to be thankful for the times we do.

Today’s guest has been an entrepreneur most of his life – having started at 18 – and failing twice – before finally figuring it out.

Now he is an award-winning Canadian entrepreneur and founder of Clarity, a venture backed startup that makes it easy to connect with top business minds over the phone.

He previously co-founded Flowtown, a San Francisco based social marketing product which raised funding, grew to over 50,000 small business customers and was eventually acquired in 2011.

A year later he was named Canada’s top angel investor having completed over 33 investments with companies like Udemy, Intercom and Unbounce.
